  • 49 vehicles modified to have separate partitions for collecting sanitary/ menstrual waste in both urban and rural areas.
  • The average daily collection stands at 50 kg and increasing!
  • Numerous water bodies and landfill sites protected from harmful contamination.
  • The forest in Tehri is protected by forest fires caused by the burning of garbage.
  • Over 30000 women benefited from various projects.
  • Women-led teams helping in creating awareness and higher revenue generation from households (waste collection charges).

Way Ahead
  1. Distribution of bio-degradable sanitary pads (Target – 1 lakh)
  2. Increasing awareness of proper usage and disposal of used sanitary pads
  3. Setting up of units for making cloth pads to be run by self-help groups
  4. Continuous monitoring of waste collection process in urban and rural areas
  5. Internship to volunteers interested in taking the initiative ahead
