- 6238 kg of menstrual waste was collected at source in the last 1 year across the Tehri district.
- 49 vehicles modified to have separate partitions for collecting sanitary/ menstrual waste in both urban and rural areas.
- The average daily collection stands at 50 kg and increasing!
- Numerous water bodies and landfill sites protected from harmful contamination.
- The forest in Tehri is protected by forest fires caused by the burning of garbage.
- Over 30000 women benefited from various projects.
- Women-led teams helping in creating awareness and higher revenue generation from households (waste collection charges).

Way Ahead
- Distribution of bio-degradable sanitary pads (Target – 1 lakh)
- Increasing awareness of proper usage and disposal of used sanitary pads
- Setting up of units for making cloth pads to be run by self-help groups
- Continuous monitoring of waste collection process in urban and rural areas
- Internship to volunteers interested in taking the initiative ahead
